On March 23 at 6:30 p.m, the Berlin Tenants’ Association informs about the rights of tenants in furnished apartments and with temporary rental contracts
What rights do I have as „short-term tenant“? Does the rent cap also apply to me? What regulations apply with regard to rental deposits and furnishings? Do I have a chance of getting a permanent lease?
Tenants with fixed-term leases are often not well acquainted with German tenancy law. Some do not even know that tenancy agreements in Germany are normally concluded for an indefinite period of time, and many are unaware of their rights as tenants. IniForum has therefore created a questionnaire for a digital tenant consultation organised by the Berlin Tenants’ Association (Berliner Mieterverein). The association’s experts will answer these and other questions and also inform about the rent cap. The event will initially focus on regulations in temporary leases and their legal status. This will be followed by an open Q&A session.
The organisers point out that the event cannot/will not provide individual legal advice. They also draw attention to the fact that one hundred percent data protection is not guaranteed via Zoom. So please do not share any personal data during the conference.
The tenant consultation will be held in German and English. Interested tenants are asked to register by email to: sowi@berliner-mieterverein.de They will receive the link after registration.
